All The Streets Are Silent

SUMMARY: The streets of NY may be temporarily quiet, but downtown Manhattan in the early 1990s was the scene of a dynamic collision between two vibrant subcultures: skateboarding and hip-hop. Jeremy Elkins’ documentary All The Streets Are Silent, narrated by Eli Morgan Gesner, brings to life the magic of this era and the convergence that produced an urban style and imagery with an oversized and lasting cultural impact. If Paris Is Burning and KIDS had a baby, you would have examined this documentary love letter to New York – the race, society, fashion, and street culture – and full of archival footage featuring iconic characters and figures from downtown.

With ROSARIO DAWSON, HAROLD HUNTER, JUSTIN PIERCE, KEITH HUFNAGEL, DARRYL MCDANIELS (RUN-DMC), JEFFERSON PANG, BOBBITO GARCIA, STRETCH ARMSTRONG, KOOL KEITH, LEO FITZPATRICK, DJ BICI, YUKI WATANABE, CLAYTON PATTERSON, BEATRICE DOMOND, TYSHAWN JONES AND MORE.
