Continuing its annual upgrade cycle, Cupertino-based Apple announced its new Apple Watch Series 7 along with the new iPhone 13 lineup. The new smartwatch functions have revised the always-on retina display with more screen space and thinner bezels.
The Apple Watch Series 7 will be available in sizes 41mm and 45mm. Without changing the dimensions too much, Apple has managed to maximize the screen area. The design has also been refined – with softer, more rounded corners. When the wrist is down, the Always-On Retina Display indoors is up to 70 percent brighter than the Apple Watch Series 6.
Even the user interface is streamlined – features a new QWERTY keyboard that can be tapped or swiped with QuickPath – allows users to slide their finger to type and uses on-device machine learning to find the next word based on context to anticipate and perform text entries easier and faster.
Apple claims the new watch has a stronger, more break-proof front glass. It is the first Apple Watch to have IP6X certification for dust resistance and maintain the WR50 water resistance rating.

In terms of functionality, the latest Apple Watch offers health and wellness tools, including an electrical heart sensor and EKG app, a blood oxygen sensor, and an app. New additions to the wellness area include a mindfulness app, sleep-breathing rate tracking, and Tai-Chi and Pilates training types.
The Apple Watch Series 7 also offers an all-day battery life of 18 hours on a single charge and 33 percent faster charging compared to the Apple Watch Series 6 thanks to a new charging architecture and a magnetic quick charger USB-C cable
“Apple Watch Series 7 offers significant improvements – from our largest and most advanced display, to improved durability and faster charging – and makes the world’s best smartwatch better than ever,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer. “Powered by watchOS 8, Apple Watch brings useful new features to help customers stay connected, track activities and workouts, and better understand their overall health and wellbeing.”
Apple Watch Series 7 will be available in five new aluminum body styles, as well as a range of new strap colors and styles. Pricing starts at $ 399 in the US. The Apple Watch Series 7 will be available later this year in India and other countries, including the US.
