BYRON, Georgia (41NBC / WMGT) – After a recent city council meeting, Byron Mayor Michael Chidester announced July 17th as Ziggy and Tooties Cakes Young Entrepreneurship Day.

In 2014, Ziggy and Tooties discovered their love for baking. Five years later, they moved into their own bakery.

After Mayor Chidester heard about her business, he wanted to encourage other children to follow their dreams.

“It would be great if we could grow something here in Byron town that came out of these girls,” said Mayor Chidester.

Ziggy and Tootie say their main goal is to get kids around the world excited about their business.

“It feels pretty fun, but I like the experience of just making a cake,” said Tootie.

The sisters say the business has grown and now the bar is set high for future young entrepreneurs in the area.

“When we were around three or four years old, we would play in the kitchen and our mom showed us how to bake a cake,” said Ziggy.

Sheva Quinn, mother of the young girls, says she is proud of everything her daughters have achieved.

“These are really the people who are like hey, let’s do this and let’s do this,” Quinn said.

The aim is to start business courses in the bakery in July.
