Tuesday April 20th

The Concan Baptist Mission Church, 23711 NUS Highway 83, will host a free sign language class at 6 p.m. The course is led by experienced sign language interpreter Karen Parchman.

Wednesday April 21st

The Uvalde Area A&M Club hosts the annual Aggie Muster at the Uvalde County Event Center in the Fairplex. The social hour begins at 6:00 p.m. and dinner at 7:00 p.m., followed by the recognition of the grant recipients, the speaker, and the sample ceremony. Thursday April 22nd

A communal farmers’ market with a range of home-grown vegetables, baked goods and handicrafts offered by regional traders takes place on the square in the city center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

During the Rotary Club of Uvalde’s lunchtime meeting, Cynthia Vasquez, a volunteer with the Del Rio-based Val Verde Border Humanitarian Coalition, will provide an overview of efforts to help immigrants who have been processed by the U.S. Border Patrol and have 10 days to spare orientate yourself and make it to the city of your sponsor. Saturday April 24th

The Herby Ham Activity Center invites volunteers for a day of work at the facility from 9 a.m. Volunteers are needed to help with gardening, cleaning and organizing the interior, as well as working in the lumber shop. Lunch is offered. RSVP, 830-591-2711.

Thursday April 29th

Uvalde Memorial Hospital, 1025 Garner Field Road, will host the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center for mobile blood donation from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Adults 18 and over who pass a brief health screening and healthy 16/17 year olds who have written parental consent can donate blood on the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center bus. Photo ID is required for all donors.
