NEW DELHI: Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) has set up admissions help desks to reach students from low-income settlements and marginalized communities across the capital, an official statement said on Wednesday. In order to bring the university to the students, a mobilization campaign for admission was organized in two youth-dominated slum clusters Navjeevan Camp and Transit Camp in Kalkaji, where the local MLA and Chair of the Education Committee of the Delhi Assembly Atishi also participated in the outreach Event attended, she added.
The DSEU team went door-to-door in the slum clusters and spoke to students who had passed their exams in grades 10 and 12, explaining to them the admission criteria, eligibility, the entrance test for various diploma and degree programs and the possibilities for scholarships under different schemes.
Deputy Prime Minister Manish Sisodia said in a previous interaction with the university, “Traditionally, students turn to universities for information and admissions, but this new skills-based university must strive to reach students, especially those who have been historically disadvantaged. ”

Atishi, who took part in one of the mobilization events, spoke to the students and parents about skills development and entrepreneurial opportunities at the DSEU.
During a conversation with the parents, she said, “This is a great opportunity for students seeking professional higher education … The courses here are developed in collaboration with the industry and have internships embedded in each course so that the student can get from the start.” to the possibility has strong industrial connection. ”
The university has also hosted similar events in more than 25 slum clusters spread around its various campuses to attract students from all income groups.
It also held similar mobilization events in low-income communities near Shakur Basti, Pochanpur Colony, Munirka Village, Madanpur Khadar, and 20 other similar colonies in the last week of July.
Admission to Skill Varsity is currently possible and the last application deadline for the various diploma and bachelor programs has been extended to August 17th.
