Delivering Worth past OMB’s IT Spending Mandate, Studying Tree Launches New Expertise Enterprise Administration (TBM) Coaching

HERNDON, Va., March 24, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Learning Tree International today announced the release of the first Technology Business Management (TBM) training course designed specifically for the US federal government. According to CIO.gov1, TBM is a powerful tool to further facilitate the implementation of the Federal Law on the Reform of IT Acquisition (FITARA) while at the same time evaluating IT spending, improving acquisitions and better understanding IT investment costs – and how these investments help the agencies accomplish their mission.

“Learning Tree is proud to support our federal customers who are required to fulfill this OMB mandate,” he said David Brown, CEO of Learning Tree. “The TBM framework is a great way to better align government IT spending with agency strategy, which will lead to greater success and greater impact.”

Developed by former and current federal employees in partnership with the Mason Harriman Group, this new Learning Tree course focuses on developing the practical skills agencies need to effectively implement TBM. This offers added value that goes beyond fulfilling the mandate of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). This requires agencies to use the TBM taxonomy to capture IT costs from fiscal 2022 onwards. RSVP for the planned first event of the course 12-14 April

“A successful TBM implementation involves federal agency staff and integrators supporting its mission. The financial, operational, and performance data compiled as part of a TBM program enables the organization to go from simply maintaining the technology to increasing mission results move on and invest in innovation, “said Thomas Boyce, former Assistant CIO at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and TBM course author for Learning Tree.

Ted Vagias, Partner at Mason Harriman Group, added: “Mason Harriman is excited to partner with Learning Tree on this important training initiative. We believe that the government’s continued investment in TBM will equip government leadership with the tools to more effectively manage IT investments, meet mission needs, and monitor tax dollars – it’s just good government. “
