Valdosta, Ga. – Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is announcing the Virtual Spring Guardian Bank Entrepreneurship Academy starting February, which is free for current Wiregrass students and alumni. The UGA Small Business Development Center at Valdosta State University works with Guardian Bank and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College to offer six courses with 12 hours of total teaching time. Business topics to discuss include: creating a business plan, money financing and accounting, marketing, human resources, and strategic planning. The courses offer knowledgeable speakers in specific business areas, self-assessment, and the ability to attend Question Time with guest speakers. The UGA SBDC also offers participants individual advice.
This Entrepreneurship Academy is made possible by the generous commitment of the Guardian Bank over a period of 5 years for 50,000 USD. “This is a wonderful opportunity for many of our students with career goals to start their own businesses,” said Dr. Tina K. Anderson, President of Wiregrass, with. “The Entrepreneurship Academy can provide valuable knowledge for all graduates who want to start their own company.”

The dates of the courses are February 24th, March 3rd, March 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st. All courses start at 1:00 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. The courses take place virtually. Students can “tune in” live at 1:00 pm to interact with the moderators or view the recorded sessions.
