EU invests in micro-entrepreneurship dev’t in Azerbaijani districts

The EU has allocated investment capital of 277,780 manats (US $ 163,400) to 113 people in Azerbaijani districts, said Sevinj Rustamova, project manager of the Azerbaijani Microfinance Association (AMFA). Trend reports.

The investment was made as part of the project “Accelerating the Development of Sustainable Micro-Enterprises in Azerbaijan Districts”.

Rustamova made the remark at the conference organized by the AMFA on this project.

According to the manager, 64 percent of entrepreneurs who have received financial aid in the districts of Azerbaijan are women entrepreneurs.

The project opened 125 jobs, 202 families increased their incomes, 76 companies expanded their activities, 37 entrepreneurs started their business, said Rustamova.

The final conference on the project “Accelerating the Development of Sustainable Micro Enterprises in Azerbaijan Districts” organized by the Azerbaijani Microfinance Association with the participation of the EU Delegation in Azerbaijan, the Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises and the National Association of Entrepreneurs (Employers) ‘) Organizations and other structures take place.
