Higher Bemidji Plans Entrepreneurship Workshops


Two free workshops for entrepreneurs interested in starting a business will be held in the greater Bemidji area in July and August. The NoW Innovators Network, led by Greater Bemidji’s LaunchPad and the Northwest Small Business Development Center, will work with ILT Studios to facilitate these workshops and introduce the lean startup model.

The first workshop will take place on Wednesday, July 14th, 2021 under the title “Startup Innovation”.. In this training you will learn how to unpack, examine and define the problem, the solution, the customer and the context of an idea.

The second workshop will take place on Thursday, August 19, 2021. It will be called “Customer Driven Innovation” and will focus on learning how to develop business ideas through a Lean Canvas model.

Both workshops are offered virtually with a personal option on the LaunchPad in Bemidji and in Red Lake in the Adaawe-wigamig Business Center. Virtual sessions run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., while the in-person option includes lunch and the opportunity to connect with business resource experts and extend the workshop from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Participants who take part in person must bring a laptop and headphones.
