IDB Hosts First Miami-Latin America and Caribbean Digital Entrepreneurship Discussion board

The Inter-American Development Bank will host the Miami-LAC 2021, June 22-24, 2021, the first business forum dedicated to strengthening ties between Miami, the private sector and Latin American and Caribbean countries (LAC). will promote digital commerce and investment opportunities between South Florida and the 26 borrowing member countries of the IDB.

Miami-LAC 2021 serves to advance Vision 2025, the IDB’s roadmap for sustainable recovery that includes the important role of the private sector.

Miami-LAC 2021 will also provide face-to-face connectivity opportunities to companies in Miami, Latin America and the Caribbean who are looking to invest, purchase, or offer digital services. On June 22nd, IDB Invest, the private sector arm of the bank, is holding a seminar on how technology can be used to promote new tourism opportunities.

The forum features panel discussions and presentations examining success stories in high-value groups of entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders from Miami and the LAC region. The hybrid event, held at The LAB Miami, will feature a limited personal audience of prominent local executives and more than 2,000 virtual attendees from 68 countries.

Topics include funding the region’s private sector, strengthening the LAC digital retail ecosystem, digital transformation for women entrepreneurs, technology and tourism, financial inclusion through digital services, e-commerce for small and medium-sized businesses, the role of higher education in the digital Economy, tourism and the growth of augmented reality and virtual reality.
