Jacquesson and Mirkovic Earn College Soccer News All-Freshman Team

PITTSBURGH – Pitt male football player Bertin Jacquesson and Filip Mirkovic were each appointed to the all-freshman team at College Soccer News.
Jacquesson received the First Team Awards while Mirkovic received the Second Team Awards.
Jacquesson, a native of Lorrez-Le-Bocage, France, finished fourth on the team with 15 points. He scored four goals and finished third with seven assists. The striker made an instant impression on the Panthers in the fall, scoring two goals and two assists in his first two games. Jacquesson followed with three assists at home against Virginia Tech on October 10. The three assists in a game are in second place in the program history with teammate Jasper Löeffelsend, who also had three assists in this game.
Jacquesson ended the season with 35 shots, 20 shots on goal and a .571 goal shot rate in 18 games played.
Mirkovic appeared in 19 games and played a central role in the Panthers midfield. Born in Belgrade, the season ended with three goals and two assists. He scored the game winner on the street in Louisville on October 23 for his first college goal. Mirkovic registered 18 shots, seven shots on goal and logged 1,549 minutes.
The Panthers finished the regular season number 3 in the country in United Soccer Coaches poll. Pitt went 16-4 overall and 9-1 in the ACC game, earning his first College Cup appearance in program history.
