Just a few days ago we detailed Lily Gladstone, who plays a major role in Martin Scorsese’s latest film, Killers of the Flower Moon. Today an actor with a Scorsese connection starred in the film. Yes, Jesse Plemons, who played a supporting role in The Irishman, will star in this next flick. He will be alongside Gladstone, as will Scorsese stalwarts Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio. Unsurprisingly, this movie is developing pretty impeccably and is a big signal for Apple when it finally hits screens slated to hit screens next year. I can’t wait and I am sure that I am far from being the only one …
Here is part of Deadline’s story:
After playing an FBI agent in Judas and the Black Messiah, Jesse Plemons wants to stay in the office. He will join Apple Studios’ Killers of the Flower Moon starring Martin Scorsese with Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.
Based on David Grann’s 1920s Oklahoma bestseller, Killers of the Flower Moon depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-rich Osage Nation, a series of brutal crimes known as the Reign of Terror. Plemons will play the leading FBI agent investigating the murders.
Lily Gladstone is also on board to play Mollie Burkhart, an Osage who is married to Ernest Burkhart (DiCaprio), the nephew of a powerful local rancher (De Niro).
Scorsese will also produce for Apple Studios and Imperative Entertainment based on a script by Eric Roth. In addition to Scorsese, Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas from Imperative and Appian Way Productions produce.
In addition to his role as the heist in Judas and the Black Messiah, Plemon’s upcoming credits include Disney’s upcoming Jungle Cruise starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, Scott Cooper’s latest film Antlers starring Keri Russell, which is being produced by Guillermo Del Toro. He also recently appeared in Charlie Kaufman’s I Think About the End of Things.
He has also just finished working on Jane Campion’s feature film The Power of the Dog, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst.
Killers of the Flower Moon joins a growing line of anticipated Apple Originals developed and produced by Apple Studios, including Lessons in Chemistry with and Executive by Brie Larson and Writ and Executive by Susannah Grant. Kitbag, the latest Ridley Scott film, starring Joaquin Phoenix; and Emancipation, by director Antoine Fuqua and with Will Smith.
