The Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) is hosting a free entrepreneurship training program from August 25 to October 11, with support from the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB).

The program is online and those who wish to participate can apply until August 14th. You can contact 8075364710 to register. Details can be found at www.kufos.ac.in. For the training, technology diplomas or graduates are preferred, according to a message from the university.

NSTEDB was established under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Technology to help knowledge-driven and technology-intensive businesses, and one of the goals of the institution is to turn job seekers into job seekers through technological interventions.

UGC detection

In the meantime, KUFOS has been officially recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It means that the degrees awarded by the university are recognized retrospectively. The recognition will also pave the way for research projects that are financially supported by the UGC.

The KUFOS authorities said that the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the All India Council for Technical Education had already approved the degrees awarded by the university.

KUFOS opened in 2010 as India’s first fisheries university, offering degrees in fisheries science and food technology, among other things. The university offers around 50 postgraduate courses.
