HICKORY – Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to the Piedmont Board of Directors has appointed Jennifer L. Wilcox as their new CEO. Wilcox has nearly 30 years of leadership experience that she will use to inspire, catalyze, and mobilize the work together for Girl Scouts in western and central North Carolina.

“The search committee, chaired by Carolyn Brickey, worked extremely hard and we are convinced of our selection. I am delighted to have someone with Jennifer’s qualifications to lead the Carolinas Peaks Girl Scouts to Piedmont out of the pandemic and into the future of our council, ”said Simeon Cross, council chairman.

Wilcox joins Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks in Piedmont, most recently as Senior Director of National Events at Girl Scouts of the USA. During her tenure in the national office, she led the GIRL 2020 team until it was canceled in April last year due to COVID-19. She then played a leading role in creating, curating and running the very first virtual 55th National Council meeting, which took place in October 2020. Her leadership also led to the successful implementation of the very first virtual council meeting and leadership summit in spring 2021.

Wilcox previously served in a variety of roles at Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing and Development Officer. She also served as the CEO and owner of Jennifer Wilcox Consulting, a nonprofit community development consultancy operating in Indiana and Kentucky, for nearly a decade. In her early career, Wilcox was assistant director of economic development for the city of Jeffersonville, her hometown.
