Number of particular columns makes the Impartial distinctive | Information, Sports activities, Jobs

About the editor:

The Marshall Independent newspaper is unique in that it has a variety of special columns in addition to the news. Over the past year, when many places were closed for social gatherings, I realized that these particular columns helped keep us connected.

Jody Mohr reports on books that she has read in her “Books and more” Pillar. Ron Skiong serves philosophical thoughts along with descriptions of various wines. Jerry Nelson adds humor to his love of agriculture and family, Bill Palmer presents the locals and history in “Prairie view”, “On the veranda” by Jennifer, Andries, director of the Lyon County Historical Society, gives a picture and history of many people and places in Lyon County.

People who work in the garden can read articles by Stephane Bethke-DeJaeghere, master gardener, Jim Muchlinski contributes interesting articles on the opinion page and Nick Simonson introduces us “The great nature.”

Thank you to all of these writers and to the independent contributors for their inclusion. My visiting children also commented on how interesting our newspaper is.
