PM Modi to go to Tamil Nadu, Puducherry forward of polls; inaugurate a number of initiatives

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the development of the small port in Puducherry as part of the Sagarmala program. It will be built at a cost of Rs 44 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Tamil Nadu constituency and the Puducherry Union Territory on Thursday. The prime minister is to inaugurate various development projects there, including a girls’ home, a sports complex and a building for the medical college in Puducherry. In Tamil Nadu he will dedicate a thermal power plant and a solar power project to the nation.

PM Modi will open a 100-bed girls’ home in Lawspet. The hostel was set up for athletes at a cost of Rs 12 crore under the auspices of the Sports Authority of India. The reconstructed Heritage Marie building, built by the French, will also be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.

He will also lay the foundation stone for the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex synthetic sports track, which is being built at a cost of around 7 billion rupees. The Medical College building at Karaikal New Campus – Phase I, Karaikal District (JIPMER) costs 491 billion rupees and the four-lane project NH45-A for 56 km from Villupuram to Nagapattinam with capital costs of 2,426 billion rupees will also be kick-start.

In Tamil Nadu, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for infrastructure projects worth over Rs 12,400. The new Neyveli thermal power project worth 8,000 rupees is dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister. NLCIL’s Rs 3,000 crore 709 MW solar power project, which has been built in Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Ramanathapuram and Virudhunagar districts, will also be dedicated to the nation.

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the expansion of the Lower Bhavani Project System, which includes the Lower Bhavani Project Canal System, the Arakankottai and Thadapalli Canals, and the Kalingarayan Canal. The expansion was taken advantage of by NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance at a cost of Rs 934 billion.

The eight-lane Korampallam Bridge and the Rail Over Bridge (ROB) are inaugurated by PM Modi in the port of VO Chidambaranar. The Prime Minister is also tackling the installation of a grid-connected 5 MW solar power plant at the port. It is set up at an estimated cost of around 20 rupees.
