Prof Meherun Ahmed joins as dean of IUB’s Faculty of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship


Before that, she worked at the Asian University for Women from 2010.

Prof. Meherun earned both her PhD and MA in economics from the University of Washington in Seattle, USA.

She completed her bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics at the University of Dhaka. She was also an assistant professor at Carleton College in Minnesota.

Prof. Meherun has worked with many national and international development organizations and think tanks, including the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund or IMF, the International Organization for Migration or IOM and the Institute for Microfinance.

Her work has been published in several prestigious journals and her research has also been presented at numerous conferences.

Her research focuses on the microeconomic analysis of household behavior with an emphasis on investments in education and health, crisis management mechanisms, nutrition, poverty, inequality, and labor supply.
