ROCKPORT, Texas – Kids in Rockport make their tastiest lemonade on Saturday for Lemonade Day.

Thirty-two booths were set up across the city, and the judges went to each booth for a sip of lemonade. There were two categories in the competition: one was the best tasting lemonade and the second was the best decorated booth.

Lemonade Day is a nationwide initiative to teach children about leadership and entrepreneurship.

“I feel like it was really important for the boys to learn to be a part of something and that day was really useful because the boys learn to put some money away and donate it to others too,” said De Los Santos family.

This year’s event was a community effort by the City of Rockport and they hope to double the number of lemonade stands next year.
