Rowan Entrepreneurship hosts prestigious pitching occasion | Rowan At present

Rowan Entrepreneurship is hosting 1 Million Cups (1MC) Tampa on February 17th and March 24th, an event that connects entrepreneurs with a vibrant corporate network where they can introduce their businesses to a range of mentors, consultants and entrepreneurs.

This program, supported by the Kauffman Foundation and operating in more than 160 cities, enables two entrepreneurs to reach a diverse audience in one hour-long event. Dr. Eric Liguori, Professor and Rohrer Chair of Entrepreneurship, will host the virtual event on February 17th, and Rowan Entrepreneurship Major Luca Fischioni will host the following event.

Four Rowan students will present their companies: Tanvi Koduru (Entrepreneurship), 3D Confectionary; Brandon Ottey (Entrepreneurship), Clouds and Colors; Jerah Siegal (Entrepreneurship), Biodome; Talia Tomarchio (Computer Science / Honors), Steminist Squad. You have six minutes to explain who you are, what your mission is, and why you started. Each presentation is followed by a 20-minute question-and-answer session.

“This gives our students the opportunity to refine their messages, get valuable feedback, and discover new markets and people,” said Jessica Ciampo, assistant programmer at the Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. “There is an opportunity to give feedback and present it again for one of more than 160 cities that 1MC serves. The learning opportunities and connections created through this experience are remarkable. “

“The 1MC national network is a powerful resource for new entrepreneurs looking to connect with communities across the country,” said Liguori. “While most 1MC presentations will be held locally, the pandemic and the move to virtual presentations are enabling such exploratory partnerships and are a great example of how entrepreneurs can use the 1MC community to reach new markets. We thank Lynn Kroesen and the 1MC Tampa community for taking advantage of virtual networking and giving our students this opportunity. “
