According to a February 2020 study by Google and Bain & Company, women-owned businesses make up 20 percent of all businesses in the country – which is roughly 13.5 to 15.7 million women-run businesses.
Despite these encouraging numbers and growth, various restrictions continue to prevent women entrepreneurs from reaching their full potential, including mentoring, access to money, and more. If these gaps are closed, another statistic in the study may say that if female entrepreneurship is accelerated, it can lead to the creation of over 30 million women-owned businesses and over 150 million new jobs.
