Dawn Farmer had never heard of a ranch before.
Dawn Farmer lives in York, England, and she has lived all 21 years of her life without knowing there was ranch dressing …
… Until recently, when someone from the US sent her a bottle to try. Here’s a video of her trying it for the first time – it has over 3.5 million views:
BuzzFeed spoke to Dawn, who said ranch is not your common dressing in the UK. “There is practically no ranch here, as I said – I had never heard of it!” So what were Dawn’s thoughts? SHE LOVED IT! “My taste buds went through the roof with excitement. The taste almost reminded me of Caesar salad dressing, but much thicker and more flavorful with different flavors,” she said.

Dawn also said she has since tried a salad and pizza ranch. She loved them both.
When it comes to dressings that are popular in the UK and not that popular in the US, Dawn says America actually has most of what they have. “Though people should definitely try a brown sauce! Or even the spread out marmit, you’ll either love it or hate it!”
Dawn makes many other American food taste test videos on her TikTok. Like this viral video series in which she tries American sweets:
Dawn said, “I’ve always been very curious about the differences between the UK and the US – and that includes the food! I was really excited and interested to try as many different things as possible. I have a huge American following on TikTok I’m even more curious to try all the different things over there! “
