NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE) – TransPerfect, the world’s largest provider of language and technology solutions to global business, announced today that the company’s President and CEO, Phil Shawe, a student at the University of Florida’s College of Liberal Arts (UF) will host the first of a series of guest lectures Offers and Sciences (CLAS) as part of the school’s Beyond120 program.
Shawe, a UF graduate, was invited to speak as part of the curriculum for a course titled “Deconstructing the Basics of Selling.” The presentation included lessons from Shawe’s 30+ year career in business, as well as his experience starting and growing TransPerfect from a dormitory startup to an industry leader with sales of over $ 850 million in 2020 .
Beyond120 was developed by CLAS to connect students with work experience and build professional skills. The lectures and guest speakers – including Shawe – are putting together a program of experiences designed to better prepare students for the challenges and opportunities they will face after graduation and joining the workforce.
Attendance at the lectures was limited to UF students, who all participated virtually.
