According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported by Investopedia, approximately 20% of new businesses fail in the first two years of opening, 45% in the first five years, and 65% in the first decade. Only 25% of new businesses reach 15 years or more. While this data is unlikely to instill confidence in aspiring entrepreneurs, proper education could help improve a company’s chances of survival. With a pandemic, some universities are offering a combination of hybrid or fully online master’s programs in entrepreneurship.
A Masters in Entrepreneurship can provide professionals with an arsenal of skills applicable in a wide variety of areas. The degree is not necessarily for those with a business background. The UK has some of the world’s leading universities offering the program. These universities are among the top 100 universities listed in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2021.
University of Edinburgh
Edinburgh is undoubtedly a good choice for prospective international students, ranking 30th in THE World University’s 2021 ranking. The business school has triple accreditation from coveted international accreditations: AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.
The Masters in Entrepreneurship and Innovation is a one-year Masters in Entrepreneurship program and prepares students for a wide range of careers in business, including business development and business creation.
Students will study six core courses in the first semester and select courses in the second semester that match their interests and career goals. The program ends with a dissertation. Students have the option to write a research paper or create a business-oriented dissertation such as a business plan or business project.

The university’s MSc Strategic Entrepreneurship and Innovation program aims to provide students with the tools and techniques to understand and manage entrepreneurship and innovation and lead innovative teams and organizations around the world.
Students will discover key themes in innovative entrepreneurship, from how companies identify and leverage both market and technological opportunities, to how they grow and secure funding.

University of Manchester
Manchester ranks 51st in THE World University’s 2021 ranking.
The Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship MSc program can be completed within one year on a full-time basis or within 24 months on a part-time basis.
Students will learn how to successfully manage both technological and organizational innovations, how the innovation process works, how companies organize to leverage internal and external innovation sources, how to conduct technology investment assessments and forecast future innovation trends and focus on development, among other things analytical and critical skills, research training, personal communication skills and effective teamwork.
University of Warwick
Warwick ranks 77th in THE World University’s 2021 ranking.
The university’s MSc Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a hands-on course for entrepreneurs. Students learn to apply best practice approaches to business proposals to maximize their chances of success.
The course covers areas such as generating new business ideas, developing and refining ideas, and designing the infrastructure through to starting the business. Students will also focus on how innovations in technological and business contexts can be used to increase the success of new, product or service based businesses.
The dissertation will also encourage students to consistently develop their business idea to ensure that the students are in a strong position to start their own business.
