The Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management, a national institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Welfare of Farmers of the Government of India in Pune, has been offering a management training program for junior employees since 1993 in order to meet the professional requirements of cooperation. The PGDM-ABM (MBA) program was approved by the All Indian Council of Technical Education in New Delhi. It has also been classified as equivalent to MBA status by the Association of Indian Universities in New Delhi and NBA accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi has granted NBA accreditation.
VAMNICOM, Pune plays an important role in the education and development of the cooperative sector in the country. The institute organizes training programs at international, national and local levels in various areas of cooperative management. Savitribai Phule Pune University and Symbiosis International University, Pune, have recognized VAMNICOM for their research leading to the award of the Ph.D. Degree in Management in general and Cooperative Management in particular. In addition to the implementation of training programs for management development in various functional areas of management, the institute has three long-term programs, namely. (a) PGDM – Agri Business & Management (ABM), which is equivalent to an MBA degree for new graduates. (b) PGDCBM program for cooperative professional officials; and (c) Diploma in Management of Computer Operations for middle and operational level personnel is available in the cooperatives.
The quality of the PGDM-ABM program and the 100% placement record of the ABM students have made VAMNICOM one of the best agri-business schools in the country.
The institute also conducts research projects sponsored by various state governments and advises various areas of cooperatives, namely banking, sugar and dairy products, on IT implementation, hiring qualified professionals and defining the roles of the workforce in IT departments. The institute has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with various institutions in India and neighboring countries in order to maximize the organization of exchange training programs and conduct various academic activities related to the management and development of cooperatives.

Admission Eligibility
The selection for the PGDM-ABM program is based on the entrance exam, which consists of
- Latest valid test result of CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA / GMAT / CMAT from AICTE at the time of application (GMAT / GRE for foreign candidates)
- Group discussion &
- Personal interview.
Ensuring the prescribed minimum number of points in the group discussion and in the personal interview is mandatory in order to be eligible for admission.
Note:
Candidates interested in pursuing PGDM – ABM at VAMNICOM, Pune, are advised to apply for and appear directly for the referred national test and register on the mandatory application form with a valid score from January 11, 2021 to March 31, 2021 apply to VAMNICOM.
Applicants can apply online on the VAMNICOM website (www.vamnicom.gov.in) and pay the relevant fees online. The mandatory application form can be downloaded from the VAMNICOM website and applied for with the valid assessment CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA / GMAT / CMAT from AICTE. Filing of the Completion Application Form, both online and by mail, along with the DD of Rs. 500 / – (in favor of “The Director, VAMNICOM, Pune”) is open from Jan.January 1 to March 31, 2021.
The group discussion and personal interviews will take place in April 2021 in Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Dehradun, Gandhinagar, Jabalpur, Jaipur (Rajasthan), Kalyani (West Bengal), Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Pantnagar (Uttarakhand) and Pune. subject to a sufficient number of students who choose to do so.
- The institutions that run AICTE’s CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA / GMAT / CMAT have no role in the selection or implementation of the program.
