Telangana: WE HUB, the Telangana government’s state-run incubator for the promotion and advancement of women’s entrepreneurship, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Friday.
The MOU provides a pre-incubation program for 60 aspiring entrepreneurs from Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), serving 30 startups from each state. These efforts will help create a start-up exchange module between JKEDI and WE HUB, which includes 5 start-ups each from Telangana and J&K.
WE HUB will drive their start-up ideas, track their progress and connect them with appropriate mentors to help them go beyond Proof of Concept (PoC). According to a press release, the best spin-offs are also registered as virtual / physical incubations with JKEDI.
WE HUB and JKEDI, as government agencies, can work to create platforms for policy sharing and stakeholder engagement to facilitate discussion of the policy framework, and case studies to enable greater gender inclusion and create an ecosystem This enables more young women and girls to be part of the economic workforce.
